We, the undersigned, support the immediate closure of the Workhouse and a significant decrease in the population of individuals who are criminalized and incarcerated in the city of St. Louis. We call on our local public officials to immediately support the jail’s closure and a decrease in St. Louis’ incarcerated population as a necessary step towards a re-envisioning of public safety and reinvestment in all St. Louis communities.
